It’s finally just around the corner. The Big Day. The BIGGEST Day. Your wedding day. You’ve likely planned every possible aspect and element of your special day, right down to the finest detail. You’re especially excited about your beautiful wedding dress — and your brilliant wedding ring. But what about other jewelry choices for your wedding day? How will you decide to accessorize on your big day?
If you’re looking for some tips or suggestions here, you’ve come to the right place. Sure, we’re experts on jewelry — and especially jewelry insurance. But we’re also extremely passionate about love, romance and weddings. Allow us to kindly share those passions with you while providing some input and advice on wedding day jewelry options. Oh, and congratulations in advance from all of us here at Zillion!
Couple Your Jewelry with Your Dress
Who and how you choose to marry is entirely up to you. Personally, we’re big fans of non-traditional weddings — and non-traditional wedding ring alternatives. But if you’re going for anything like a traditional or “timeless” look and feel for your wedding day, it’s best to take the time to match your jewelry with your wedding dress. If your gown is white, then silver or platinum pieces pair best with your dress. For a more “champagne”-hued dress, gold jewelry works well. Walking down the aisle in a “blush”-colored gown? Then a particular shade of gold known as rose gold will compliment your look quite nicely.
Check the Neck
In addition to the color of your wedding dress, the cut of the gown can help determine which way you turn when selecting the perfect jewelry complement. If your dress features a strapless neckline, you should consider wearing a shorter necklace — possibly even a choker. This will create a truly timeless look and feel and draw everyone’s eyes to your winning smile. Or you could opt to forego a necklace entirely, choosing to don dramatic, dangling earrings instead. You could even add a smaller bracelet or bangle to perfectly balance this look. If the dress has a V-neck, however, you’re best off choosing a choker or pendant — or even layering both, if they’re particularly dainty pieces. If you decide to pair the neckwear with earrings here, you can go a bit more conservative and modest with those pieces. Or you could once again opt for dramatic “chandelier”-style earrings.
KISS — Keep It Simple, Sweetheart
No matter what you wear, be sure to do your best to keep it simple. Don’t overthink it. And definitely don’t overdo it. After all, you don’t want your jewelry to outshine your dress — or more importantly, you. You can really hone in your focus by finding one particular piece that you want to wear on your wedding day. Something like a string of pretty pearls never goes out of style. In fact, pearls are actually back in fashion in a big way for the fall and winter months of 2021. Think about whatever that one particular piece looks and feels like to you…then go out and find it. Make it a special part of your special day. What more do you need, really? Your dress. Your ring. Your featured jewelry piece. And of course, the love of your life. Standing by your side. It doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that. Simple is always sweet.
Just Do YOU
Of course, as we touched on earlier, you and everyone involved should feel completely free to be exactly who and what you want to be at your wedding — and every day of your life together after the big day. We’re just offering some advice and suggestions here. Ultimately, we want you to be comfortable expressing your own look. Your own feel. Your own style. Your own self. That, more than anything else, is as important on your wedding day as any other day in your life. Confidence and comfort are what look best on you. So go ahead. Wear it well. ROCK it!
Accent It with Insurance
